The Big Island of Hawaii offers some of the best fishing in the world. A Big Island Deep Sea Fishing Charter is a great way to spend a day in Hawaii! We recently joined the Bite Me Fishing Crew aboard their luxurious Kila Kila vessel for an 8 hour sport fishing excursion.

As we stepped aboard the 53’ Merritt vessel we were greeted by the friendly crew. I explored the beautiful vessel and took in the beautiful Big Island views as we departed Honokohau Harbor near Kona.

The great thing about Big Island Deep Sea Fishing is you do not have to go far for the fish to begin biting. The coastal shelf drops off quickly and pelagic big game fish swim close to the islands to feed. Shortly after leaving the harbor we had a bite! My brother jumped in the fighting chair and ended up reeling in a beautiful Mahi Mahi!

We had several more catches that day. My brother and I were even reeling in fish at the same time!

At lunch the crew prepared a delicious meal of fresh poke and fish sandwiches. It was the best meal I had all week!

We had a great day Big Island Fishing with the Bite Me crew. I was hesitant when we reserved our Big Island Fishing Charter. I had never been deep sea fishing in Hawaii and I was nervous about what to expect. The Bite Me crew made me feel welcome and confident as soon as I stepped onto the boat. Once I caught my first game fish I was hooked! I can’t wait to return for more Deep Sea Fishing in Hawaii.
